The Brief
Samson Bakare, a celebrated Nigerian UK-based visual artist known for his "Afro-Classicism" body of work, needed a digital home that matched the weight of his practice — one that could hold up in front of international galleries, collectors, and press. Inspired Scoop Digital Services was brought on to handle the full website design and development process: brand presentation, content structure, and a platform the studio could manage independently long after launch.
Our Approach
We treated this as a brand project first, a website second. Before any build work started, our team mapped out how a collector, curator, or journalist would move through the site — and designed every page to serve that journey, not just to list content.
- Visual identity translation — we built a gallery-first layout that gets out of the way of the artwork: minimal navigation, generous whitespace, and a restrained palette that lets Bakare's saturated color work and portraiture do the talking.
- Content architecture — we structured the site around About, Work, Press, and Contact, giving the studio room to grow its exhibition history and press coverage without ever needing a redesign.
- Media-rich storytelling — we integrated full-bleed video into the homepage to introduce the artist's practice in motion, alongside a high-resolution image system for individual pieces.
- Commerce extension — rather than build a duplicate storefront, we integrated a curated prints section linking directly to the artist's limited-edition listings on Artsy, extending reach into an existing sales channel.
- Audience capture — we built in a newsletter subscription flow so the studio can build a direct line to collectors and fans ahead of future drops and shows.
- On-page SEO — every page shipped with custom titles, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, and social preview data as part of our standard SEO groundwork, so shared links always surface the right image and message.
- Built to last — the site was handed over with ongoing technical care in mind, so it stays fast and secure well past launch day.
